What we do.
Vellum Studio is a small team in London working across brand, web and motion for clients who plan to be around in a decade, not just for a launch week.
Five ways in
Most projects start with one of these and grow. Every engagement ends with a system somebody else can run.
01
Brand strategy
Positioning, naming and verbal identity work for studios and founders who need a clear answer to what they are before anyone touches a typeface. We interview the people who work there, not just the people who commissioned the project, and write down what we hear.

02
Identity systems
Logotype, mark, colour, type and the rules that hold them together across packaging, signage and a screen nobody has designed for yet. We build systems meant to survive a junior designer working alone at midnight, not just the version we hand over on launch day.

03
Web design and build
Framer sites designed to be edited by the people who run the business after we leave, not by whoever built them. We design in the browser from week one, so nothing promised in a static comp has to be walked back by motion or code.

04
Motion and sound
Title sequences, product film and the small motion details that make a site feel considered rather than merely animated: transitions, loading states, sound design. We treat motion as a language with its own grammar, not a layer added once the static design is signed off.

Art direction
Ongoing creative direction for brands that photograph and film themselves season after season: campaigns, look books, editorial. We set the framing rules once, then either shoot the work ourselves or hand a small in-house team the exact language to keep shooting it without us.

How it runs
01
Listen
We spend the first stretch of a project asking questions, not presenting ideas: sitting in on your meetings, reading customer emails, handling the product when there is one to hold. Briefs change shape once we have watched the business work.
02
Define
Strategy becomes decisions here: positioning, naming where needed, a written brief for what follows. We show up with a point of view, not three safe directions, because a studio that never disagrees with you is not doing its job.
03
Make
This is the long stretch: design, build and refine in tight loops with your team, not one reveal at the end. You see work in progress every week, including pieces we reject, so the direction never arrives as a surprise.
04
Land
We stay through the handover, not the send-off: staff training on the new site or system, a document of decisions and why we made them, and a fixed window afterwards for the questions that only surface once something is live.
Scope estimator
See the range before you write the brief.
Pick what you need. The estimate updates as you go, and the range it shows is the range we quote from.
Questions we get asked
What is it like to work with Vellum Studio?
Direct, mostly. You will sit in early strategy sessions, see unfinished work most studios would hide, and hear a straight answer when something is not working. We keep project teams small on purpose, so you are talking to the person actually holding the pen, not an account manager relaying notes.
